Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Madaba, start at the Madaba Archaeological Park. Head east on King Abdullah II Street towards the intersection with Al-Madani Street. Turn left onto Al-Madani Street and walk until you reach the bus station on your right. Here, catch a local bus heading towards Jericho. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Jericho, disembark at the main bus station. From there, ask locals for directions to the Laura of Gerasimus Monastery, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus station. Follow the main road south towards the plains of Jericho until you reach the monastery. The signs in the area will also guide you.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, from your location in Madaba, you can hire a taxi. Ask the driver to take you to Jericho, specifically to the Laura of Gerasimus Monastery. The drive will take about 30 minutes, so make sure to confirm the fare beforehand. Upon arriving, the taxi will drop you off near the monastery entrance.

• Bus

  From Madaba, head to the main bus station located at the intersection of King Abdullah II Street and Al-Madani Street. Look for a bus heading to Jericho. Tickets are usually purchased directly from the driver. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic views as you travel. You will need to get off at the Jericho bus station. From there, you can either walk for about 15 minutes or take a local taxi to the Laura of Gerasimus Monastery.
