Car
If you are driving from Aqaba, take the Desert Highway (Route 15) heading north. After approximately 45 km, take the exit towards Wadi Rum (Route 60). Continue on Route 60 for about 30 km until you reach Wadi Rum Village. Once in the village, look for signs directing you to Abu Khashaba Canyon. Depending on the conditions, you may need a 4x4 vehicle to navigate the rough terrain. The canyon entrance is located at FFVC+95J, approximately 5 km from the village center.
Public Transportation
From Aqaba, you can catch a bus to Wadi Rum Village. Buses typically leave from the Aqaba Bus Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around 7-10 JOD. Once you arrive in Wadi Rum Village, you can hire a local taxi or a 4x4 tour vehicle to take you to Abu Khashaba Canyon. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which usually ranges from 20-30 JOD, depending on your destination and the driver.
Hiking
If you are already in Wadi Rum and prefer to hike, you can take a guided tour from Wadi Rum Village that includes a trek to Abu Khashaba Canyon. Many local tour operators offer packages that range from half-day to full-day hikes, usually costing between 30-60 JOD per person. This option not only gets you to the canyon but also allows you to experience the stunning landscape and local flora and fauna along the way.
