Car
If you are driving, head towards the main highway connecting Amman to the south of Jordan. From Amman, take the Desert Highway (Route 15) south. After approximately 1.5 hours, take the exit towards Madaba and follow the signs to the Mujib Reserve. Continue driving until you reach the entrance of Wadi Mujib, which is well-marked. Park your car at the designated parking area and follow the signs to the Ibex Trailhead.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Amman to Karak. Buses leave frequently from the South Bus Station. Once you reach Karak, look for a taxi or shared taxi to take you to Wadi Mujib. The taxi ride will take about 30-45 minutes. Make sure to communicate to the driver that your destination is the Ibex Trail in Wadi Mujib. You will be dropped off at the entrance where you can pay any required fees and start your hike.
Hiking Access
Upon arriving at the Wadi Mujib entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee, which is typically around 21 Jordanian Dinars (JOD) for adults. After payment, follow the clearly marked trail signs leading to the Ibex Trail. The trailhead is about a 15-minute walk from the entrance. Ensure you have appropriate gear and plenty of water, as the Ibex Trail offers stunning views but can be challenging in sections.
