    If you're starting from the Emporia Public Library at 110 E 6th Ave, head east on 6th Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Commercial St. Turn left (north) onto Commercial St and continue for about 0.3 miles. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto W 12th Ave. After 0.7 miles, turn right onto Sodens Rd. Continue on Sodens Rd for about 0.5 miles, and you will see the David Traylor Zoo on your right at 75 Sodens Rd.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From the Emporia Transit Center located at 15 W 6th Ave, take Route 1 towards the Emporia State University. Get off at the stop at 12th Ave and Commercial St. From there, transfer to Route 2 heading towards the zoo. The bus will take you directly to the stop near the David Traylor Zoo. After getting off, it's a short 5-minute walk to the entrance of the zoo.

    If you have a bike, start from downtown Emporia at the intersection of Commercial St and 6th Ave. Head north on Commercial St, then turn right onto W 12th Ave at the roundabout. Follow W 12th Ave for about 0.7 miles, and then turn right onto Sodens Rd. The zoo is located about 0.5 miles down Sodens Rd on your right. This route is relatively flat and safe for biking.
