If you're driving from the center of Flint Hills, head south on KS-177 S. Continue on KS-177 S for about 40 miles until you reach the junction with US-160 W. Follow Squaw Creek Rd for about 5 miles, and you'll arrive at Elk City State Park located at 4825 Squaw Creek Rd, Independence, KS 67301. There is no entry fee for the park, but be aware that parking may require a state park pass if you plan to use specific facilities.
