From any point in Flint Hills, head towards Hartford, Kansas. Take the nearest major road leading to Hartford. If you are on US-50, continue east until you reach the intersection with K-99. Turn north on K-99 and follow it for approximately 6 miles. Then, turn left onto W Maple Ave. The Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge entrance will be on your right at 530 W Maple Ave, Hartford, KS 66854. There is no entry fee for the refuge.
