If you are in downtown Lawrence, start at the intersection of 9th Street and Massachusetts Street. Head south on Massachusetts Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 14th Street. Continue straight, and you will see the entrance to the Battle Rd Trail on your left. Follow the trail signs to enjoy the scenic views.
Bicycle
From the Kansas River Trailhead, which is located at the end of E 8th St, bike west along the river path. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with Massachusetts Street. Turn right onto Massachusetts Street and continue for approximately 0.5 miles. The entrance to the Battle Rd Trail will be on your left. This route is scenic and bike-friendly.
Public Transit
Take the Lawrence Transit Bus Route 6 from the downtown bus terminal located at 9th and Massachusetts. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop near 14th Street and Massachusetts Street. From there, walk north on Massachusetts Street for a short distance, and you will find the entrance to the Battle Rd Trail on your left.
