Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Lawrence, head east on Massachusetts Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 11th Street. Turn right onto 11th Street and proceed until you reach Louisiana Street. Turn left on Louisiana Street and walk north until you reach the intersection with 6th Street. Turn right on 6th Street and continue until you reach the bus stop at the intersection with Indiana Street. From there, catch the Lawrence Transit bus route 1 heading towards the east. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes until you reach the stop at 19th Street and Haskell Avenue. Get off the bus and continue walking east on 19th Street. Finally, turn right onto Haskell Avenue, and after a short walk, you will arrive at the Charles River Esplanade.

  From downtown Lawrence, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing stations. Head east on Massachusetts Street until you reach 11th Street. Turn right onto 11th Street and continue until you reach Louisiana Street. Turn left and bike north on Louisiana Street until you reach 6th Street. Turn right and bike east along 6th Street. Continue to follow the bike lane until you reach the bus stop at Haskell Avenue. From there, take the bike path along Haskell Avenue heading towards 19th Street. The Charles River Esplanade will be along your route, providing a scenic ride.

  To get to the Charles River Esplanade using public transit, start by locating the nearest bus stop in downtown Lawrence. Board the Lawrence Transit bus route 1 heading east. Remain on the bus for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the stop at 19th Street and Haskell Avenue. Once you disembark, walk east on 19th Street and then turn right onto Haskell Avenue.
