Getting There

  From any location in Southwest Kansas, you will need to head towards U.S. Route 54. Drive east on U.S. Route 54 until you reach the junction with U.S. Route 83 in Liberal. Take U.S. Route 83 north towards Garden City. Continue north until you reach the junction with I-70. Merge onto I-70 east and continue driving until you reach the exit for I-470. Take I-470 north, which will lead you towards Kansas City. Follow the signs for U.S. Highway 40 and merge onto it. Follow U.S. Highway 40 into Kansas City, then take the exit for Genessee St. The French Bottoms Historical Marker is located at 1800 Genessee St, Kansas City, MO 64102. There are no additional costs associated with this route other than fuel.
