To reach the Combat Air Museum from downtown Topeka, start by heading to the nearest bus stop. Use the Topeka Metro public transit system, specifically Route 2, which operates along SE 6th Avenue. Board the bus heading east towards the Eastgate Shopping Center. Ride for about 15 minutes until you reach the stop at SE 29th and SE California Ave. From there, transfer to Route 9, which will take you further southeast. Stay on the bus for another 20 minutes until you arrive at the stop closest to Forbes Field. After you get off, walk approximately 0.5 miles north on Forbes Avenue until you reach the entrance to the Combat Air Museum, located at 7016 SE Forbes Ave. Be sure to check the Topeka Metro schedule for bus times and plan your trip accordingly.

Start your journey by heading southeast on SE 6th Avenue towards SE California Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with SE 29th Street, then turn left. Turn left on Forbes Avenue and walk north for about 1.5 miles. The museum will be on your left, right before you reach the Regional Airport.
