If you are driving from the main entrance of Charyn Canyon, head east on the main road (A-2) for approximately 7 kilometers. Continue on the A-2 until you see signs for Kurtogay. Turn left onto the road leading to Kurtogay. Follow this road for about 30 kilometers, keeping an eye out for signs indicating 'Chernyy Kan'on'. To reach Chernyy Kan'on from Charyn Canyon using public transportation, first take a shared taxi or minibus (marshrutka) from the canyon to the nearest town, which is Baiseit.
