If you are driving, head towards the town of Tamgaly, which is the closest major settlement to Tanbaly. From Almaty, take the A2 highway heading east. After approximately 150 km, take the exit towards Tamgaly. Once in Tamgaly, continue to follow the signs for Tanbaly, which is located at RG4Q+MJC. The roads may be unpaved, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. The journey from Almaty to Tanbaly should take about 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
