Getting There
Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Almaty from Semirechye (Seven Rivers). Take the A2 highway towards Almaty. Once in Almaty, follow signs for Medeu District. As you approach the city center, look for Dostyk Avenue (проспект Достык). Turn onto Dostyk Avenue and continue until you reach number 104B. There is parking available near the Kok Tobe entrance.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus or a marshrutka (minibus) from Semirechye to Almaty. Check schedules for buses heading to Almaty, and board one that goes to the city center. Once in Almaty, you can take bus number 12 or marshrutka number 105 towards Kok Tobe. Get off at the stop closest to Dostyk Avenue and walk to 104B. The bus fare is approximately 150 KZT.
Cable Car
Once you arrive in Almaty and reach Dostyk Avenue, you can also opt for the Kok Tobe cable car, which provides a scenic route up to the hill. The cable car station is at 104B Dostyk Avenue. Tickets for the cable car cost around 1,500 KZT for a round trip. The views from the cable car are stunning, offering a unique perspective of the city.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Semirechye to Kok Tobe. You can use local ride-hailing apps or flag down a taxi on the street. The trip will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic, and the fare should range between 2,000 to 3,500 KZT.
