Getting There

  • Car

    From your location in Turgen Gorge, head south on the main road (A2) towards the town of Talgar. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction near the village of Tamgaly. Take a left turn at the junction and follow the signs to RG4Q+MJC, Tamgaly. Drive for about 10 kilometers, and you will arrive at Tanbaly, which is well-signposted. Make sure to have cash for tolls along the way, as there may be minor fees.

    To reach Tanbaly via public transportation, first, take a bus from Turgen Gorge to Talgar. Buses run frequently from early morning until evening. Once you arrive in Talgar, transfer to a local minibus (marshrutka) heading to Tamgaly. The fare for the bus is approximately 500 KZT, and the marshrutka will cost around 300 KZT. After getting off at Tamgaly, follow the signs to RG4Q+MJC, which is about a 20-minute walk from the minibus stop. Ensure you check the bus schedules to return, as they may vary.
