As you enter West Union, look for Waggoner Riffle Rd. Turn onto Waggoner Riffle Rd and continue for approximately 2 miles until you reach the Richard and Lucile Durrell Edge of Appalachia Preserve Visitor Information Pavilion at 3223 Waggoner Riffle Rd. There is parking available at the pavilion.

  • Public Transportation

    Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. The nearest major bus services are located in larger towns such as Portsmouth or Chillicothe. From these towns, you can take a regional bus service to West Union. Once you arrive at West Union, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Visitor Information Pavilion, as public transport does not service Waggoner Riffle Rd directly.
