Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from a central location in Eastern Mountain Coal Fields, such as Paintsville, KY. Head south on US-23 S for approximately 30 miles. Take the exit for KY-7 S toward Olive Hill. Continue on KY-7 S for about 10 miles until you reach Olive Hill. Once you are in Olive Hill, turn right onto Grayson Lake State Park Road. • Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a Greyhound or local bus to the nearest major city, which is Ashland, KY. From Ashland, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Olive Hill, as public transport options are limited. The taxi ride from Ashland to Grayson Lake State Park will take approximately 30 minutes and may cost around $40-$60, depending on traffic and the service used. Once in Olive Hill, follow Grayson Lake State Park Road as described above.

• Bicycle

  If you are feeling adventurous and would like to bike to Grayson Lake State Park, start from Olive Hill. Head south on KY-7 S. After about 2 miles, turn onto Grayson Lake State Park Road, which will lead you directly to the park. • Walking

  If you are already in Olive Hill and prefer walking, you can walk from the city center to Grayson Lake State Park. Head south on US-7, then take a left onto Grayson Lake State Park Road.
