Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of the Knobs Region, head southeast on KY-7 S/US-60 E. Continue on this road for about 15 miles until you reach Grayson, KY. Once in Grayson, take the right fork onto KY-1 S, and follow the signs for Grayson Lake. The lake entrance is about 5 miles from Grayson. Look for Grayson Lake State Park signs, and turn right onto Grayson Lake Rd, which will lead you directly to the lake's parking area.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, check for local bus services that operate within the Knobs Region. You may need to take a bus to Grayson, KY, and from there, you can use a rideshare service or a local taxi to reach Grayson Lake. For instance, once you arrive at the Grayson bus stop, you can call for a taxi or use a rideshare app to get to Grayson Lake, which is approximately 5 miles away from the bus station. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may have limited service hours.

  For the adventurous, biking to Grayson Lake can be an enjoyable option. From the center of the Knobs Region, take KY-7 S/US-60 E. Once you reach Grayson, you can continue on KY-1 S and then turn onto Grayson Lake Rd. The distance is about 20 miles one way, so ensure you are prepared with sufficient water and supplies for the trip.

• Walking

  Walking to Grayson Lake is not recommended due to the distance and lack of pedestrian pathways. However, if you are nearby, follow the same route as the biking option. It may take several hours to walk from Grayson, so plan accordingly and ensure you have proper footwear and hydration.
