Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Elizabethtown City Hall located at 200 West Dixie Ave, Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Head east on West Dixie Ave toward North Mulberry St. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with North Miles St. Turn left onto North Miles St and walk for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with East Vine St. Turn right onto East Vine St and continue for about 0.4 miles. You will pass several local shops and restaurants. When you reach the intersection with South Mulberry St, turn left. Continue on South Mulberry St for another 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with East Park Rd. Turn right onto East Park Rd and follow it for approximately 1 mile. The trailhead for Buffalo Lake Trail will be on your right side near Greenspace, Inc. You should see signs indicating the entrance to the trail.

• Biking

  If you have a bicycle, start your journey at the Elizabethtown City Park located at 1300 E Park St, Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Head west on East Park St and then turn left onto South Mulberry St. Follow South Mulberry St for 0.5 miles where it will merge with North Miles St. Continue straight for about 0.3 miles and then turn right onto East Vine St. Stay on East Vine St for approximately 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with South Mulberry St. Turn left onto South Mulberry St and bike for another 0.5 miles. Finally, turn right onto East Park Rd and ride for about 1 mile. The entrance to Buffalo Lake Trail will be on your right near Greenspace, Inc.

  While Elizabethtown does not have a robust public transit system, you can use local taxi services or rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft. If you are near the Elizabethtown City Hall, request a ride to 'Greenspace, Inc., PO Box 550, Elizabethtown, KY 42702'. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of Buffalo Lake Trail. Make sure to confirm the drop-off point to ensure you arrive at the trailhead.
