If you are traveling by car within the Knobs Region, start by heading towards Lexington. Use local roads to reach Interstate 64 (I-64) East. Merge onto I-64 East and continue for about 25 miles. Take exit 115 for US-60 toward Winchester/Lexington. Merge onto US-60 East and follow the signs for Lexington. Once you enter Lexington, take the exit toward US-421 South. Follow this road until you reach Alumni Drive. The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky will be located at 500 Alumni Dr, Lexington, KY 40503. There is free parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound or Megabus service to Lexington from nearby cities. Once you arrive at the Lexington bus station, you can use the Lextran public bus service. Catch bus route 12 (Blue Route) heading towards the University of Kentucky. The bus will take you to the stop closest to the Arboretum. The fare is $1.50 per ride. After getting off at the stop, walk towards Alumni Drive; The Arboretum is within a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
