Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from anywhere in the Knobs Region, head towards the nearest major road that connects to I-65 N. Follow signs for I-65 N and merge onto the highway. Continue on I-65 N for approximately 10 miles. Take exit 129A for I-264 E toward Lexington. Merge onto I-264 E and continue for about 5 miles. Take exit 12 for Poplar Level Road. Keep left at the fork, following signs for Poplar Level Road N. Continue on Poplar Level Road for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Illinois Ave, and the Louisville Nature Center will be on your left at 3745 Illinois Ave, Louisville, KY 40213.

Depending on your exact starting point, you may need to take Route 23 (Bardstown Road) or Route 18 (Hurstbourne). Get off at the stop closest to Poplar Level Road and Illinois Ave. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Louisville Nature Center at 3745 Illinois Ave. Be sure to check the TARC schedule for any fares and route changes.
