Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from the center of the Knobs Region, head southeast on KY-1632 S (also known as South Preston Highway) towards Louisville. Continue for about 10 miles until you reach I-65 N. Merge onto I-65 N and continue for approximately 5 miles. Take exit 132A for I-64 E towards Lexington. Stay on I-64 E for about 2 miles, then take exit 9 for KY-864 N (also known as River Road). After exiting, turn right onto River Road. Continue straight for about 2 miles, and Thurman-Hutchins Park will be on your left at 3227 River Rd, Louisville, KY 40207.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you can take the TARC bus service. Start by boarding a TARC bus that heads towards downtown Louisville. From downtown, transfer to bus route 2 (East Broadway) and ride until the stop at River Road and 3rd Street. From this stop, it is about a 0.5-mile walk to the park. Head west on River Road for approximately 10 minutes and you will see Thurman-Hutchins Park on your right.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can take the scenic route from the Knobs Region towards Thurman-Hutchins Park. Start on KY-1632 S and follow the bike lanes towards the city. Once you reach the riverfront, continue on River Road, which has designated bike paths. Enjoy the ride along the river with beautiful views, and after about 10 miles, you'll arrive at Thurman-Hutchins Park.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Thurman-Hutchins Park and prefer to walk, you can access the park from nearby neighborhoods. Locate River Road and follow the sidewalk heading east. The park entrance is well marked, and you will reach it within a 15-minute walk.
