Car
If you are driving to Devil’s Gulch, start on KY-15 S from any location in the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Follow KY-15 S for approximately 3.5 miles until you reach the intersection with KY-77. Take a left onto KY-77 S and continue for about 2 miles. Look for the signs leading to the Devil’s Gulch parking area. The entrance to the parking area is on the right side of the road, and there is no fee for parking.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in the Red River Gorge area. However, you can take a Greyhound or Megabus to Lexington, KY, and then use a local taxi service or rideshare app like Uber or Lyft to get to Devil’s Gulch. The taxi ride from Lexington to Devil’s Gulch will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and can cost around $80-$100 depending on traffic and time of day.
Hiking
If you are already in the Red River Gorge and prefer to hike, you can access Devil’s Gulch via the nearby trails. From the Gladie Visitor Center, head toward the Swift Camp Creek Trail. Follow the trail for about 3 miles until you reach the junction with the Devil’s Gulch Trail. Continue on the Devil’s Gulch Trail for about 1 mile until you arrive at the landmark. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and check weather conditions before embarking on the hike.
