Car
If you are driving, start from the main road that leads into Chyulu Hills. Head towards the Chyulu Hills National Park entrance. Once you reach the entrance, pay the entry fee (approximately 20 USD for non-residents) and continue on the main road. Follow the signs to the Chyulu Two peak, which is well marked. The last stretch involves a dirt road; ensure your vehicle has good clearance. The drive should take about 30 minutes from the park entrance. Look out for the distinctive formations of Chyulu Two as you approach.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, first take a matatu (shared minibus) from Nairobi to the town of Mtito Andei. This journey costs around 10 USD and takes about 3-4 hours. From Mtito Andei, you can hire a local taxi to take you to the Chyulu Hills National Park entrance. The taxi fare should be around 25-30 USD. Once at the park entrance, pay the entry fee (approximately 20 USD for non-residents) and ask the park rangers for guidance to Chyulu Two. They may provide you with a local guide for an additional fee (around 15-25 USD), which is recommended for safety and navigation.
Hiking
For those who are adventurous and already within Chyulu Hills, you can hike to Chyulu Two from nearby campsites. Begin from the Chyulu Hills campsite, following the marked trails. The hike is moderately challenging and can take 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you have enough water and snacks, and consider hiring a local guide for better navigation and safety.
