Car
If you're driving from the nearest major town, Embu, head east on the Embu-Mbeere Road (A2) for about 30 km. Watch for signs directing you to Kyeniri. Once you reach Kyeniri, take the Kigwambiti - Kyeniri Road, which leads directly to Kantùùri. This journey should take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as fuel stations may be limited in rural areas.
Matatu (Public Minibus)
From the Embu bus station, look for a matatu heading towards Kyeniri. These typically leave every 30 minutes and the fare is around 100 KES. Upon reaching Kyeniri, you can either take a motorcycle (boda boda) to Kantùùri or walk, which is about 5 km. If you opt for the boda boda, expect to pay about 50-100 KES for the ride. Walking will take approximately 1 hour.
Motorcycle Taxi (Boda Boda)
Once you arrive at Kyeniri, if you haven't taken a matatu directly to Kantùùri, you can hire a boda boda to take you there. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should not exceed 100 KES for the short distance. Ensure that the motorcycle is in good condition and that the driver has a valid license.
Use Kantùùri as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
