Car
If you're traveling by car from the center of Kerio Valley, head southeast on the A1 road towards Mukumu. Continue for approximately 10 kilometers. Once you reach Mukumu, look for a sign indicating the turn-off to The Crying Stone, which is located at coordinates 0.2399903, 34.7551558. The turn-off will be on your right. Drive carefully down the dirt road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the stone. Note that it's advisable to have a 4x4 vehicle due to the rough terrain.
Public Transportation
To reach The Crying Stone using public transport, first take a matatu (shared taxi) from Kerio Valley to Mukumu. The fare is usually around 200-300 KES. Once you arrive in Mukumu, you can either take a boda boda (motorbike taxi) for about 150 KES directly to The Crying Stone or walk the remaining 2 kilometers following the directions provided. The boda boda ride will save you time and is the most convenient option.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Mukumu, start at the main bus stop and head southeast on the main road. After about 1 kilometer, look for a sign for The Crying Stone and take a right onto the dirt path. Continue for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the stone. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
