    If you're traveling by car, first navigate to the town of Tulia in Kitui Plains. From the center of Tulia, head southeast on the main road (A5) for approximately 8 kilometers. Look for the turnoff towards Ikoo Valley, which is marked by a sign. Turn left and continue on this road for about 3 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Ikoo Valley. Ensure to check your fuel levels as there may not be refueling stations nearby.

  • Public Transportation (Matatu)

    To reach Ikoo Valley using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Kitui Town to Tulia. Matatus leave frequently from the main bus station in Kitui. Once you arrive in Tulia, you can either walk to the main road (approximately 1 kilometer) or ask locals for a matatu that goes towards Ikoo Valley. The fare to Tulia is usually around 50-100 KES. Once you are at the turnoff for Ikoo Valley, you may need to walk or hire a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) for the last leg, which might cost around 200-300 KES.

    If you already reach Tulia and prefer a quicker option, hire a boda boda to take you directly to Ikoo Valley. You can find boda boda drivers near the matatu stage. Negotiate the fare before the ride, which should range from 200-300 KES for the trip. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.
