Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Chyulu Hills National Park. Head southeast on the main park road, following the signs for the various attractions within the park. Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating the turnoff to Kwa Mukala, which is located at the coordinates V2XV+W4V Itoloni Mwingi. Turn left onto the dirt track and continue for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach Kwa Mukala. Be cautious of wildlife and potholes along the dirt road.

For those using public transportation, first take a matatu (shared taxi) from the nearest town, such as Mombasa or Nairobi, to the Chyulu Hills region. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you may need to hire a local taxi or motorbike taxi ( boda boda) to take you to Kwa Mukala. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. Inform the driver of your destination; it's approximately a 20-kilometer drive from the entrance to Kwa Mukala. Expect to pay around 1000-1500 Kenyan Shillings for this trip.
