If you are traveling by car from Kitui Town, head southeast on the Kitui-Machakos Road (A109). Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for the Kitui Plains area. Turn left onto the road leading into Kitui Plains. Drive for approximately 20 kilometers, following the signage for Ithumba Camp. The camp is located near the Ithumba area which is well-marked.

For those using public transportation, board a matatu (shared taxi) from Kitui Town heading towards Machakos or a specific route to Kitui Plains. Inform the conductor that you are going to Ithumba Camp, and they will drop you at the nearest point. From there, you can either walk the remaining distance (approximately 5 kilometers) or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to Ithumba Camp.
