Getting There

  • Car

    From Nanyuki town, drive north on the A2 highway towards Timau. After about 15 kilometers, turn right onto a well-marked dirt road towards Borana Wildlife Conservancy. Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Borana Lodge. Note that the road may require a 4x4 vehicle, especially during the rainy season. Ensure you have cash for the park entrance fee, which is approximately KES 1,500 per person.

  • Public Transport

    Take a matatu (shared taxi) from Nanyuki town heading towards Timau. Inform the driver to drop you at the junction for Borana Wildlife Conservancy. From there, you will need to arrange for a private taxi or a local motorcycle (boda boda) to take you the remaining 10 kilometers to Borana Lodge. The taxi fare might be around KES 1,000-1,500. Ensure you have enough cash on hand for both the matatu fare and the taxi.
