If you are traveling by car within the Lake Victoria Basin, start by heading towards Mbita town. From any major town such as Kisumu, you can take the A1 highway towards Homa Bay. Once you reach Homa Bay, follow the signs to Mbita. Upon arriving in Mbita, head towards the shores of Lake Victoria. The lodge is located along the lakefront. Look for signs pointing towards Rusinga Island and follow the road leading to the ferry terminal.

Public Transportation
To reach Rusinga Island Lodge using public transportation, first take a matatu (shared taxi) or bus from your location to Homa Bay. Upon arrival in Homa Bay, you can find matatus heading to Mbita. Once in Mbita, you will need to take a short taxi ride to the ferry terminal. The ferry operates regularly and will take you across to Rusinga Island. The ferry fare is approximately 100 KES per person. After crossing, you can hire a local taxi or walk to the lodge, which is located a short distance from the ferry landing.
