Car

If you are traveling by car from Lamu town, head south on the main road towards the Lamu ferry terminal. Once you reach the ferry, you will need to take a ferry to cross over to the other side of the channel. The ferry ride typically costs around 50 KES per person. After crossing, continue driving towards the direction of Shela village. Look for signs directing you to Jamala Guesthouse, which is located close to the beach. The guesthouse is approximately 4 km from the ferry terminal.

Public Transportation (Matatu)

To reach Jamala Guesthouse using public transport, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Lamu town to Shela village. You can catch a matatu near the Lamu Old Town market. The ride costs around 100 KES per person and takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive in Shela, ask locals for directions to Jamala Guesthouse, which is a short walk from the village center.
