Car
If you are driving, head towards the Talek area. From the Talek Gate, take the M633 road towards the Olare Orok Conservancy. The conservancy is located approximately 12 kilometers from Talek Gate. Follow the signs for Olare Orok Conservancy. Please note that the road can be bumpy, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited refueling options in the area.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared minibus) from Narok Town to Talek. The journey takes about 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions. Once you reach Talek, you can hire a private taxi or arrange for a pickup with your lodge or safari operator to reach Olare Orok Conservancy. Expect to pay around $20-$30 for the taxi ride, which is approximately 12 kilometers from Talek.
Safari Vehicle
If you have booked a safari package, your tour operator will typically provide transportation to Olare Orok Conservancy. This is often the most convenient option, as safari vehicles are designed for the rugged terrain. Make sure to confirm your pickup time and location with your operator in advance.
Walking (Not Recommended)
While it's possible to walk to the conservancy from Talek, it is not recommended due to the distance (12 kilometers) and the presence of wildlife in the area. If you choose to walk, be sure to stay on established paths and be cautious of wildlife.
