  • Bicycle

    If you’re in central Mombasa, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head northeast towards Moi Avenue, then continue on Moi Avenue until you reach the junction with Nkrumah Road. Turn right and follow Nkrumah Road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Malindi Road. Continue cycling straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Bamburi Forest Trails on your left, marked by a sign.

  • Walking

    From central Mombasa, you can walk to Bamburi Forest Trails, although it is quite a long distance. Start from Kenyatta Avenue and walk towards Moi Avenue. Continue on Moi Avenue until you reach the junction with Nkrumah Road. Turn right and follow Nkrumah Road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Malindi Road. From there, it will be approximately a 5-kilometer walk along Malindi Road. Look for the entrance to Bamburi Forest Trails on your left. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

    To reach Bamburi Forest Trails using public transport, find a matatu (shared minibus) heading towards Bamburi from the central matatu stage in Mombasa. Board a matatu that has 'Bamburi' or 'Shanzu' written on it. Inform the conductor that you need to get off at the Bamburi area. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off, walk along Malindi Road for about 1 kilometer, and you will find the entrance to Bamburi Forest Trails on your left.
