Walking
If you are starting from the Mombasa Old Port, head south along the waterfront for about 10 minutes. You will see Fort Jesus directly in front of you as you approach the entrance located on Nkurumah Rd.

From Mombasa Tusks, located at Moi Avenue, walk towards Moi Avenue and head east. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Nkurumah Rd. Turn left onto Nkurumah Rd, and Fort Jesus will be about a 15-minute walk ahead on your right.
Matatu (Local Minibus)
To reach Fort Jesus from anywhere in Mombasa, find a matatu heading towards the Old Town area. Board the matatu and inform the conductor that you want to get off at Fort Jesus. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, walk a short distance to the entrance of Fort Jesus located on Nkurumah Rd.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start from the city center and head towards Old Town. Follow the signs to Fort Jesus, which is approximately a 20-minute ride from the center. Once you reach Nkurumah Rd, park your bike and walk to the entrance.
