Walking
If you are starting from Mombasa city center, head south on Moi Avenue until you reach the junction with Nkrumah Road. Turn left onto Nkrumah Road and walk straight until you reach the roundabout. From the roundabout, take the second exit onto Kenyatta Avenue. Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of Uhuru Garden, which will be on your left. The garden is about a 20-minute walk from the city center.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in the city center and follow the same route as the walking directions. Cycle south on Moi Avenue, then left onto Nkrumah Road. Follow this road straight to the roundabout, then take the second exit onto Kenyatta Avenue. Continue on Kenyatta Avenue, and Uhuru Garden will be on your left. The ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your speed.
Public Transport (Matatu)
To reach Uhuru Garden via public transport, look for a matatu (shared minibus) heading towards Mwembe Tayari. Board the matatu at a designated matatu stage in the city center. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the nearest stop to Uhuru Garden. Once you get off, walk north along Kenyatta Avenue for a few minutes until you find the entrance on your left. This journey usually takes around 15-25 minutes depending on traffic.
