If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, Nanyuki. Drive towards the C77 road heading east. Continue on the C77 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with the A2 road. Take a right onto the A2 and head south for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Baricho. Once in Baricho, use the coordinates F6F9+GR (latitude: -0.5261542, longitude: 37.2196228) to navigate to the parking area near the waterfall. Ensure that your vehicle is in good condition, as some roads may be rough.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Nanyuki to Baricho. This journey should take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Baricho, you can either walk to the waterfall, which is about a 30-minute hike from the town center, or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for a quicker trip. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which typically ranges from 200 to 500 KES depending on the distance and your negotiation skills.
Walking
From the point where your vehicle or matatu drops you off in Baricho, you will need to walk to the waterfall. Follow the main road heading east out of town, and look for local signs or ask residents for directions to Kameria waterfall. The path may not be well-marked, so it's advisable to travel in a small group and keep an eye out for fellow hikers. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes, and be prepared for uneven terrain.
