If you are traveling by car, start from Nanyuki town, which is one of the main access points to Mount Kenya. Take the Nanyuki to Nyeri road (A2) and head towards Nyeri. After approximately 25 kilometers, look for signage pointing to Kangaita. Turn onto the road leading to Kangaita and continue for another 15 kilometers until you reach the coordinates H7QJ+MP, which is the location of Kangere 1. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for potentially rough terrain as roads can be unpaved in this area.

To reach Kangere 1 using public transportation, take a matatu (shared minibus) from Nanyuki to Nyeri. These matatus leave frequently from the Nanyuki town center. Once you arrive in Nyeri, you will need to transfer to another matatu heading towards Kangaita.
