Car
If you are driving, head south from Naivasha town on the A104 road. After approximately 14 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to Mount Longonot. Take the exit towards Longonot. Drive on the gravel road until you reach the entrance to Mount Longonot National Park, where you will need to pay an entrance fee (around 30 USD for non-residents and 20 USD for residents). After entering the park, follow the main road to the parking area near the trailhead.
Public Transportation
To reach Mount Longonot using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Naivasha town to the Mount Longonot entrance. Look for matatus heading to Longonot or 'Kijabe.' The fare is usually around 100-150 KES. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee (30 USD for non-residents, 20 USD for residents) before proceeding to the parking area. From the parking area, the trail to Kilele Ngamia - Longot Summit begins.
Hiking
From the parking area, begin your hike by following the clearly marked trail. The trek to Kilele Ngamia - Longot Summit will take approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. The trail is well-maintained but can be steep in certain sections. Make sure to carry plenty of water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. Enjoy the scenic views and wildlife as you ascend.
