Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the Mount Longonot National Park entrance. Head southeast on the main road towards Gilgil. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Turn left onto the road marked towards Sulmac Village. Continue for about 3 kilometers until you see signs for Second Valley Viewpoint. The viewpoint is located at coordinates 38J3+2F, Sulmac Village. Parking is available near the viewpoint, and there may be a small entrance fee to the park.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Longonot town heading towards Gilgil. Inform the driver that you are heading to Sulmac Village. The journey should take around 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Sulmac Village, you may need to hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to Second Valley Viewpoint. The fare should be around 200-300 KES depending on negotiation. The viewpoint is located at coordinates 38J3+2F, Sulmac Village.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the Mount Longonot National Park entrance, follow the main road towards Gilgil and then take the left turn towards Sulmac Village. The distance is approximately 8 kilometers and may take around 1.5 to 2 hours on foot. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry enough water for the journey.
