Highrise Junction: A Gateway to Nairobi's Skyline

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Nairobi CBD, head to the Kencom Bus Station. From there, board a matatu (minibus) heading towards Kibera. You can take any matatu with a sign indicating 'Kibera' or 'Lavington', as they typically pass near Highrise Junction. After about 30 minutes, request the conductor to drop you at the Highrise Junction stop. Once you alight, you should see the bridge directly ahead.

• Matatu

  From Nairobi Central Railway Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby matatu stage. Look for matatus heading towards Kibera or Dagoreti, which are marked with signs. Board one and pay the fare. After approximately 25-35 minutes, ask the conductor to let you know when you reach Highrise Junction. You will be dropped off near the bridge, which is a recognizable landmark.

• Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

  From your location in Nairobi, find a nearby boda boda stand. Negotiate the fare to Highrise Junction. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The boda boda riders know the area well, so just mention 'Highrise Junction' or show them the address: MRP4+8X8, Raila Odinga Wy, Nairobi. They will take you directly to the junction.

• Walking

  If you are in the Kibera area, navigate to Raila Odinga Way. Walk towards the central area of Kibera, and look for signs directing you to Highrise Junction. The bridge is prominent, so keep an eye out for it. Once you reach the junction, you will see various local shops and the bustling environment characteristic of the area.
