Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in central Nairobi, start at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC). Head northwest on Uhuru Highway. After about 500 meters, you will reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Kenyatta Avenue, continue for about 1 km until you reach the junction with University Way. Turn left onto University Way and continue for approximately 600 meters. You will notice the National Museum of Kenya on your left at Kipande Road.

  • Matatu (Public Minibus)

    From central Nairobi, head to the nearest matatu stage, such as Kencom. Look for a matatu going towards Westlands (routes 24, 34, or 46 are good options). Board the matatu and inform the conductor you are going to the National Museum. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Kipande Road and the main road. Walk about 200 meters along Kipande Road, and you will arrive at the museum.

  • Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

    If you prefer a faster option, you can take a boda boda. Head to a nearby boda boda stage, which can usually be found at major intersections or markets.
