Bicycle
From the center of Naivasha town, head towards Moi South Lake Road. You can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near the market. Ride along Moi South Lake Road for about 10 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views of the lake on your right. Keep an eye out for any signs directing you to Mt Longonot. Once you reach the junction at Longonot, take a left turn, and continue straight for another 5 kilometers until you arrive at the Mt Longonot hiking trail entrance.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from Naivasha town center and head towards Moi South Lake Road. It's approximately a 15-kilometer walk, so be prepared for a long trek. Walk along Moi South Lake Road, which will take you past beautiful scenery and local wildlife. After about 10 kilometers, you'll reach a junction where you need to take a left towards Longonot. Continue walking straight for another 5 kilometers until you see the entrance to the Mt Longonot hiking trail.
Matatu (Shared Taxi)
To get to Mt Longonot hiking trail by matatu, head to the Naivasha matatu stage located near the market. Look for matatus heading towards Longonot or Nakuru. Once you find one, hop in, and inform the driver that you want to get off at Mt Longonot. The ride usually takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Longonot junction, walk straight for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the hiking trail entrance.
