If you are traveling by car from Taita Hills, start by heading southeast on the C103 road. Follow the C103 for about 30 kilometers. You will pass through scenic landscapes and may encounter local wildlife along the way. As you approach the Tsavo East National Park, look for signage indicating the Sala Gate entrance. The entrance will be on your left, and you will need to pay a park entry fee, which is approximately 1,500 KES for citizens and 4,000 KES for non-residents. Ensure you have cash ready for this fee.

To reach Tsavo East Sala Gate via public transportation, first, make your way to the nearest major town, Voi. From Taita Hills, you can take a matatu (shared minibus) heading to Voi. This journey may cost around 200 KES and take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Once in Voi, you will need to find a matatu or taxi that is heading towards Tsavo East. Ensure to ask the driver to drop you off at the Sala Gate entrance. The fare from Voi to the Sala Gate is typically around 300 KES. Remember to check with the driver about the timing of departures back to Voi.
