If you are traveling by car, start from Lodwar, the capital of Turkana County. Take the C39 road heading northwest towards Kalokol. Continue on this road for approximately 50 kilometers. After reaching Kalokol, follow the signs to the Lake Turkana region. You will drive along the northern shore of Lake Turkana. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as some sections may be unpaved or in poor condition. The total travel distance from Lodwar to Lake Turkana is about 100 kilometers, and it may take around 2 to 3 hours depending on road conditions.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Lodwar to Kalokol. The matatus to Kalokol regularly depart from the Lodwar town center, and the journey takes about 1 hour, with a cost of around 300 KES (Kenyan Shillings). Once you arrive in Kalokol, you may need to hire a local taxi or a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you to the Lake Turkana area. This could cost between 500 KES to 1000 KES based on your negotiation skills and the distance traveled.
