Car
If you are traveling by car, you should start from Loyangalani, a town on the western shore of Lake Turkana. From Loyangalani, head north on the main road towards Eliye Springs. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will see a sign for Eliye PalmBeach Ecolodge. Turn left at the sign and continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach the ecolodge. The road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from Loyangalani to Eliye Springs. Matatus regularly run this route and the fare is typically around 200-300 Kenyan Shillings. Once you arrive at Eliye Springs, you can either walk or hire a local motorcycle taxi (boda boda) to cover the final distance of about 5 kilometers to Eliye PalmBeach Ecolodge. Make sure to negotiate the fare for the boda boda, which may range from 100 to 300 Kenyan Shillings depending on your negotiation skills.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and fit, consider biking from Loyangalani to Eliye PalmBeach Ecolodge. The route is approximately 35 kilometers and can be quite challenging due to the terrain. Make sure to carry plenty of water and snacks for the journey. Once you see the sign for Eliye PalmBeach, turn left and continue biking for another 5 kilometers to reach the ecolodge.
