Getting There
Walking
Start at the center of Shtime, near the main square (Sheshi i Shtimes). Head east on the main road (Rruga e Dëshmorëve) towards the outskirts of the town. Continue walking for about 20 minutes until you reach the end of the town. From there, you will see signs pointing towards the Šar Mountains. Follow the signs for approximately 5 more minutes until you reach the foot of the mountain range.
Public Transport
Begin at the main bus station in Shtime, located near the city center. Take a bus heading towards the village of Shala, which passes close to the Šar Mountains. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Shala bus stop, disembark and follow the signs that guide you towards the hiking trails leading into the Šar Mountains. It is a short 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop to the base of the mountains.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer a more active route, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near the main square in Shtime. Once you have your bike, head out of the town on the main road (Rruga e Dëshmorëve) in an easterly direction. The bike ride to the base of the Šar Mountains takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Look for a right turn towards the hiking trails as you approach the outskirts of Shtime, where you can safely park your bicycle.
