Car
If you are driving from the city of Fergana, head east on the A373 highway towards the town of Kokand. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards the M41 highway towards Bishkek. Continue on this road for about 50 km, following the signs for Bash-Kaiyndy. As you approach Bash-Kaiyndy, look for local signs pointing towards Shar Waterfall. The waterfall is located at the coordinates 41.0612407, 76.0106667, which you can input into your GPS. Parking may be available near the waterfall site.
Public Transportation
From Fergana, take a shared minibus (marshrutka) to Kokand, which costs around 30 KGS and takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Kokand, transfer to a marshrutka heading towards Bishkek. Inform the driver you are going to Bash-Kaiyndy; the fare is approximately 50 KGS and the journey takes about an hour. Once you reach Bash-Kaiyndy, you may need to hire a local taxi to take you directly to Shar Waterfall for around 200 KGS, or you can opt to walk if you feel adventurous.
Hiking from Bash-Kaiyndy
If you reach Bash-Kaiyndy by public transport, you can hike to Shar Waterfall. The hike is about 3 km and may take around an hour. Follow the local trails and ask residents for directions if needed. It's advisable to wear good hiking shoes and carry water, as the terrain can be uneven.
