Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within the Naryn Region, you can easily reach the city of Naryn by following the A365 road. From the town of At-Bashy, drive south on the A365 for approximately 120 kilometers. The road is well-paved and offers scenic views of the mountains and valleys. Be aware that the road can be narrow in some areas, and it’s advisable to drive carefully, especially during rainy weather.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi (marshrutka) from the nearby towns such as At-Bashy or Kochkor. Look for marshrutkas heading to Naryn at the local taxi stand; they typically leave when full. The fare is around 150 KGS per person, and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Ensure you confirm with the driver that their destination is Naryn before departing.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous traveler, cycling to Naryn is also an option. Starting from At-Bashy, you can take the same A365 route. The distance is about 120 kilometers, so plan for a full day of cycling. Make sure to carry sufficient water and snacks, as there are limited stops along the way. The terrain is mostly hilly, so be prepared for a challenging ride.

• Hitchhiking

  If you're looking for a more spontaneous way to travel, hitchhiking is a viable option in Kyrgyzstan. Stand by the roadside on the A365, ideally at a point where the road is wide enough for drivers to pull over. Make sure to have a sign indicating your destination (Naryn) in both English and Russian. People are generally friendly and may offer you a ride, but be patient as it might take some time.
