Tuk-tuk
From Champasak town, the most common way to reach Vat Phou is by tuk-tuk. Negotiate a round-trip fare with a driver in town, which should cost approximately 80,000-100,000 LAK. The journey takes around 20-30 minutes. Ensure the driver knows you want to visit Vat Phou, as there are other temples in the area. The tuk-tuk will drop you off at the entrance to Vat Phou.
Walking
From the Vat Phou entrance, you'll need to walk to the main complex. The entrance fee is 50,000 LAK for foreigners, which includes access to the museum and an electric car service to the base of the temple ruins. The walk from the ticket booth to the base of the temple is approximately 10-15 minutes on a paved path. Alternatively, you can take the included electric car.
