Getting There

Tuk-Tuk
From the center of Luang Prabang, head to the main street (Sisavangvong Road). Look for a tuk-tuk stand or wave down a tuk-tuk passing by. Inform the driver that you would like to go to the Elephant Village Sanctuary & Resort. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to agree on the fare beforehand, which should typically be around 50,000 to 70,000 LAK.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many shops in Luang Prabang. Start from Sisavangvong Road and head towards the Mekong River. Follow the river north until you reach the junction with the road leading to the Elephant Village Sanctuary. The route is approximately 12 kilometers and takes around 1 hour. Be cautious of the traffic and wear a helmet for safety.

Walking
For those who enjoy walking, the Elephant Village Sanctuary & Resort is about 12 kilometers from the center of Luang Prabang. Start walking along Sisavangvong Road towards the Mekong River. Once you reach the river, you can follow the path along the riverbank until you reach the sanctuary. This walk will take around 3 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
